In a global landscape marked by accelerated change, 2025 emerged as a decisive year for architecture—not only because of the major events that animated the international circuit, but above all because of the voices that stood out within them. From the Venice Architecture Biennale to Expo Osaka, pavilions and installations from the Global South ceased to function as mere exhibition gestures and instead asserted themselves as territories of memory, resistance, and imagination, articulating narratives that expand the horizons of contemporary architectural debate.

Implanted within an agricultural property in Vila Nova de Gaia, characterized by gentle slopes, the Casa do Engenho is part of a built ensemble from the early 18th century, composed of the main residence, cultivated areas, a threshing floor, wells – one of which is the old “mill” – and small support buildings. This complementary body, originally dedicated to hosting family gatherings and celebrations, had a rigid and compartmentalized organization that limited its functionality and daily life.

Nice rice Xinle Road marks the origin of the brand, and this year it has been thoughtfully renewed. Today, the brand has expanded to dozens of cities nationwide, yet each new opening looks back to Xinle Road as its point of departure. With this vision at the core, say reimagined the store as a place of convergence, depicting a warm, welcoming”rice house”.

pfeffermint AG realized the conversion and refurbishment of the Landgasthof Riehen with the utmost care. The aim was to create a place that combines tradition, modern comfort and an artistic ambience in a unique way. The formerly somewhat outdated building was brought up to date with a carefully crafted interior design. Timeless elegance meets beautiful details that preserve the character of the hotel while giving it a modern interpretation.

The architecture of Cia Marítima Store on Oscar Freire Street proposes a dialogue between the earth and sunlight. The building has two floors. The store is located at the level of the public sidewalk, where functional furniture blends with garden islands.
